Puppet Artisan & Puppeteer, The Festival of the Moving Creature, University of Virginia (2012-13)

Collaborated in yearlong program with students from Art, Drama, and Architecture to research, design and fabricate five giant creature puppets that were showcased in a festival on April 20, 2013. The program was named in honor of Stan Winston, a University of Virginia alumnus and renowned film special effects designer. Matt Winston, the founder of “The Stan Winston School of Character Arts” (SWSCA), brought notable Hollywood special effects artists to the university to work hands-on with students in several workshops. (Notable visiting artists include: Shannon Shea, Richard Landon, William Bryan, Ted Haines, Shane Mann and videographer John Ales.)

o   Head Designer + Project Leader for “Nessy.” Headed design team of five that then led group of twenty in final construction.

o   Spoke before the University of Virginia Arts Council as a co-representative of “The Stan Winston Festival of the Moving Creature.”

Part of a team that researched, designed, fabricated and installed a permanent public sculpture on the Greenline Run/Walk Trail. Acted as group Secretary.
